Mark opened the front door and stepped inside. He put his bag on the chair. “I’m home.”
“Me too,” Julia said from the kitchen. “I just got in five minutes ago.”
Mark walked in and saw her taking vegetables out of a bag. “Long day?”
Mark 打开前门，走进家里。他把包放在椅子上。“我回来了。”
“我也是，”Julia 在厨房里说。“我五分钟前刚到家。”
Mark 走进厨房，看见她正在从袋子里拿蔬菜出来。“今天累吗？”
“Yes. We had two meetings in the afternoon. Both were longer than planned.” She smiled a little. “How about you?”
“Busy. My manager asked for a report before five. I finished it at 4:58.”
“That sounds stressful.”
“累。下午有两个会议，都比计划的时间长。”她轻轻笑了一下。“你呢？”
“很忙。经理让我在五点前交报告。我四点五十八分才完成。”
“听起来很紧张。”
“It was. I didn’t even have time for a proper lunch. I just had a sandwich at my desk.”
Julia shook her head. “You always do that.”
“I know. I’ll try to manage my time better.” He washed his hands. “What’s for dinner?”
“是啊。我连好好吃午饭的时间都没有，只是在办公桌前吃了一个三明治。”
Julia 摇摇头。“你总是这样。”
“我知道。我会努力把时间安排得更好。”他洗了手。“今晚吃什么？”
“Simple food. Stir-fried vegetables and rice. I didn’t have the energy to cook anything complicated.”
“That’s perfect. I’m too tired to think about complicated food.”
They moved around the kitchen quietly for a moment. Mark took plates from the cabinet. “Did you stop by the supermarket?”
“简单的菜。炒蔬菜和米饭。我没有力气做太复杂的菜。”
“这样就很好。我也太累了，不想吃复杂的东西。”
他们在厨房里安静地忙了一会儿。Mark 从柜子里拿出盘子。“你去超市了吗？”
“Yes. We were almost out of milk. And I bought some fruit.”
“Good. I’ll make coffee tomorrow morning.”
They sat down at the table.
Julia let out a long breath. “I feel like this week is moving very slowly.”
“去了。牛奶快没有了。我还买了一些水果。”
“很好。明天早上我来煮咖啡。”
他们坐下来吃饭。
Julia 叹了一口气。“我觉得这个星期过得很慢。”
“Really? I feel the opposite. Every day goes by so fast.”
“Maybe because you’re too busy to notice.”
“Maybe.” He took a bite of rice. “Do we have any plans this weekend?”
“真的吗？我觉得正好相反。每天都过得很快。”
“可能是因为你太忙了，没有注意。”
“也许吧。”他吃了一口饭。“这个周末我们有什么计划吗？”
“I was thinking we could clean the apartment on Saturday morning. The living room is getting messy.”
Mark smiled. “I was hoping you wouldn’t say that.”
Julia laughed. “It won’t take long if we do it together.”
“我想星期六早上我们可以打扫公寓。客厅开始有点乱了。”
Mark 笑了笑。“我本来希望你不要这么说。”
Julia 笑了。“如果我们一起做，就不会花太多时间。”
“Okay. And on Sunday?”
“Maybe we can go for a walk in the park. The weather report says it will be sunny.”
“That sounds nice. We haven’t had a real break in weeks.”
Julia looked at him. “Are you sleeping well?”
“好吧。那星期天呢？”
“也许我们可以去公园散步。天气预报说会是晴天。”
“听起来不错。我们已经好几个星期没有好好休息了。”
Julia 看着他。“你最近睡得好吗？”
“Not really. I wake up around three and start thinking about work.”
“You should try to relax more in the evening. Maybe don’t check emails after dinner.”
Mark nodded slowly. “You’re right. Work can wait until morning.”
“不太好。我常常在凌晨三点醒来，然后开始想工作的事情。”
“晚上你应该多放松一点。也许晚饭后不要再看邮件。”
Mark 慢慢点头。“你说得对。工作可以等到早上。”
They finished eating.
Julia stood up to wash the dishes. Mark joined her. “Let’s try to have a quieter night,” he said. “No laptops.”
She smiled. “Deal. Just tea and maybe a movie.”
“That sounds like the best plan I’ve heard all day.”
他们吃完了饭。
Julia 站起来洗碗。Mark 也过去帮忙。“今晚我们安静一点吧，”他说。“不要用电脑。”
她微笑着说：“好。喝点茶，也许看一部电影。”
